DO217 PARTS RETRIEVAL

Good evening all,

I am planning to retrieve next June several parts of a KG100 Do217 which crashed in the French mountains in 1944. Its remains were thrown after the crash in a 80 meter deep cave by local people and stayed there for 70 years. Many airframe parts are still there. This very original operation will be done by speleologists. All the authorizations have been obtained, and the parts will be afterwards exposed in different museums.

I am looking for support: logistic, financial, and also some media coverage. I shall be happy to trade off some parts against such support. If you have any idea or proposal in this respect, I shall be delighted if you contact me by PM. Looking forward to reading you.

Precision: this is not a business driven venture, it is a historical operation. Parts will not be sold but can be traded off against, for example, other aviation artefacts (with a strong preference for French stuff).

Re: DO217 PARTS RETRIEVAL

Hi Gilles,

Aircraft in a cave, what else!

My friend Jean-Louis Roba has written a book(let) about KG 100, perhaps he can provide some info's. He is a skilled author working with Avions, entre autres.

I can trade P-38 if wish, see On Offer thread.

All the best.

Nicolas
