Bf109E crash (Downe Golf Course) Biggin Hill
 

Hello all
I wonder if anyone could help identify a Bf109E that came down on Downe Golf Course near Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain. I’ve drawn a blank so far and would appreciate any help. I think the course in question may be the West Kent Golf Course at Downe rather than Downe Golf Course, if that helps.

40-09-15 Oblt. Julius Haase KIA 3/JG 53 Mullard Wood /Biggin Hill
40-10-02 Oblt. Siegfried Stronk KIA 8./JG 53 Biggin Hill

Without something more specific (crash or crash landing might help), this is hard to pin down but thanks to Frans post:


Rath was an Oblt with 4./JG 54 not JG 53 and came down at Chelsham
Ziegler was a Lt and came down at Addington
My late friend Heinrich Höhnisch came down at Old Jail Inn, Biggin Hill
Haase came down at Norheads Farm, Biggin Hill
Stronk came down at Sutherland Avenue, Biggin Hill

I live very near Biggin and locations for places named by Chris are:-

Old Jail Inn, Juil Lane O.75 E of BH very close to Cherry Lodge Golf Course and Downe Village

Addington 3 km NW BH

Chelsham 3 km SW of BH

Norheads Farm 0.25 Km W of BH

Sutherland Ave O.25 Km S od BH

So the top item should be the crash the subject of this post

I made a typo, the Pub is in Jail Lane and is a favourite "watering hole" of Nigel Farage who lives in Downe Village
