Bong and McGuire
Hi,
is there any listing of the above two pilot's claims which tie up with known Japanese losses ? I recall seeing somewhere that Bong once shot down an Oscar with only a few hits and this was confirmed when the wreck was found. Bruce Lander |
Re: Bong and McGuire
Bruce,
Keep an eye on the South Pacific Air War series published by Avonmore Books. Vol 1 came out last year, covering 12/41-3/42. The authors are Michael Claringbould and Peter Ingman. |

Re: Bong and McGuire
Hi,
Thanks but I guess that this is not in English Bruce Lander |
Re: Bong and McGuire
Bruce,
Bong's claims should begin to appear in about Vol. 4 of the South Pacific series, assuming each volume covers about four months. Cheers, Bruce |
Re: Bong and McGuire
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for that I will start saving now Bruce L |
Re: Bong and McGuire
Bruce,
You can scrap my assumptions! South Pacific Air War is apparently intended to be a trilogy, with Vol. 2 soon to be released. |
Re: Bong and McGuire
Hi Bruce,
Cheers for that - still saving ! Regards Bruce Lander |
