JG11'losses in Normandy:26/06/44
 

2(3?) Fw.190 have been lost due to technical defects (source:JG1/JG11 Prien,) source now too old.

I am looking for more complete information:as, follow air combat?,place of fall?
to confirm if any were lost in the area of Caen/Carpiquet
For moment,0 Fw.190 lost in that region.

I doubt whether you are going to get more than you already have being non-combat casualties albeit I have a Uffz Karl-Heinz Ritter of 1./JG 11 wounded near Lonrai and another 3 from 1./JG 11 suffering technical problems at a unrecorded location

Hello Michel,

according to the Summarische Verlustmeldungen / summary loss records on 26 June 1944 the I./JG 11 lost 4 Fw 190:

2 loss category 20 (= Totalverlust ohne Feindeinwirkung mit Feindauftrag/destroyed without enemy action on operational flight) and 2 loss category 21 (= beschädigt ohne Feindeinwirkung mit Feindauftrag/damaged without enemy action on operational flight).

Blimey! 2 losses and 2 damaged on a flight they didn't encounter the enemy, what's the story?
