Tiger Moths T5749 and T6267 1/9/42

Hi guys

I have extracted the following from another forum:

1 Sept 1942: Tiger Moth T5749 18 EFTS Fairoaks was stolen by 17-yr-old civilian Peter J. Thorpe, who crashed and was killed.

I am keen to learn more about this incident. Has anything been written in a newspaper, magazine or book?

On the same date, LAC M. Kanieski took Tiger Moth T6267 of 25 PEFTS on anunathorised flight; he survived. Again, I seek details.

Cheers
Brian

For those uneducated amongst us, I shall translate:

Brian, would have been too much to ask to have identified "the another forum" as being RAF Commands?

Air Britain says T5749 stalled on takeoff so the 'pilot' didn't get very far, whereas the other aircraft tipped up on landing, so the second person may have actually completed a circuit.

What a waste of a young life!

Hi Stephen

Please pick on someone else for a change! I am being polite!

Why not be positive?

Have a nice day.

Brian
