Searching several Info in Militärarchiv Freiburg
 

Hi All,

I intend to visit the German Military Archive (Militärarchiv) in Freiburg because searching for several information. Because I do not know which file I have to ask for may be some of you can help me:
1. Searching for "Quartiermeistermeldungen (losses of of IV. JG 53, dated between November 20th 44 and Nov. 30th 44).
2. all Information about Flak-Batterie 34/VII (especially where they were based between Oct. 1944 and April 1945.
Who can tell me wich file starting with "RL...) I have to ask for?

Send them an e mail stating as clearly as possible what you need and they will list the information in the reply.
I recently asked for info on the LL Sturmregiment at the battle for Maleme and they replied within a week by e mail with a 4 page A4 list of the relevant files.

The GQM list for 1944 do not exsist. Only summary losses.

leichte Heimat-Flakbatterie 34/VII
Mar-Apr 44: protection of the gas utility in Salzburg.
1944: Salzburg then Donaueschingen/Süd airfield.

Very doubtful if BA-MA has any records for this unit, but give it a try.

Here one can also do the search without check-In.
This will list all available files in Freiburg, Lichterfelde etc.

Hello Rolf,

there were two IV./JG 53 losses in the period 20 - 30 Nov 1944:
26.11. 15./JG 53 Uffz Georg Heller POW low-attack, area Brumath (15 km north of Strasbourg) 100% Bf 109 G-14 WNr. 464724 yellow 3
26.11. 15./JG 53 Uffz Helmut Rietze missing low-attack, area Brumath, 100% Bf 109 G-14 WNr. 464324 yellow 4.
