Seeking photos showing full code for He111P of Lt Ernst Petzold of 9./KG54 that FL at Oudekapelle, SW of Dixmude, Belgium on 02.06.40
Hello,
I've got five photos of this force-landed He111P in the EoE Photo DB, but none of them clearly show the full a/c code. The front half of the prop spinners are yellow, and the partial a/c code letter in yellow can only be B3+CT, B3+GT or B3+OT. Does anyone have either photos or info that would allow the full identification of Lt. Petzold's a/c? I want to use this for a color profile for the EoE project: "2 June 1940: 9./KG54 Heinkel He111P-2. Engines set alight in attacks by No. 92 Squadron Spitfires over Dunkirk and belly-landed at Oudekapelle, south-west of Dixmude, Belgium, at 8.00 a.m. BF Obergefr August Beiersdorf killed, HS Gefr Franz Draxler badly wounded in leg – admitted to hospital in Thourot, FF Lt Ernst Petzold and BO Gefr Bernhard Okuniewski both unhurt. Aircraft 100% write-off." Who can help with this? Regards, Larry Hickey EoE Project Coordinator |
