For those among you that are interested in what happened to German files captured during and after the war, this book explains the difficulties of the West German government and later united German government to get the files back. The writer is aware that many files were not immediately returned due to their intelligence value and to deny certain information to the Russians. This is definitely not a book for the casual researcher, and it is expensive. The book's scope covers all files, not just those that might be military or weapon related. The following excerpt explains why Germany wants its history returned, and the negotiations that extended over decades toward that end.
