8th Air Force Formations and PFF
 

I am researching 8th Air Force bomber formations in the April-May 1944 time-frame and have some questions.

I have found that there are many variations of the 'box' formation. Can anyone tell me what formation type was being used in the time-frame above? When was the term 'bomber stream' adopted and to which formation type did it apply?

I assume when PFF ships were being used, in early 1944 there would be one PFF ship flying as Group lead?
