"Moscowed"

Hello,

While going through the ORB of 5 SAAF Squadron, I've found at several time the word in "Moscowed" as in for example:
Lt. v. d. Spuy took part in a sweep, "Moscowed" and returned early at 12:45.

Is there anyone who knows what they meant by "Moscowed"?

Just a guess, but I think in this context it means they had a failure of some kind, perhaps engine problems.

Here is a link that starts discussing engine problems before takeoff then uses "Moscowed" which seems to be in the sense of a a similar failure in the air:

The first had conquered Moscow (burned to the ground in 1812), the second did not (small damages in 1941 by air attacks). Both had lost the war (1813 and 1945).
