Fulmar force-landed Portugal 11/40
 

Hi guys

A Fulmar force-landed at Cluminzata, Southern Portugal in November 1940. Can someone offer date of incident and any further details?

Fulmar X8700 of 807 Squadron. Lt Commander Sholto and Lt Gregory interned for a while before returning to unit. But Sturtivant gives the date as November 1941 (no exact date given)

Must have been before 8 Nov 1941 when HMS Argus arrived at Gibraltar.

hi,

The correct date is 1 November 1941 in the island of CULATRA - and not Culmizate. It is in the south Portugal.

Searched the ORB of 807 Suqadron no refrence to the incident. LT/ Com J. Sholto Douglas was Royal Navy and the commander of the squadron.

Hope this helps. Unffortunatly I have no more information about this event...
