6./KG53 Heinkel He111H-3 (5675). One engine damaged by AA fire during low-level attack on convoy off Harwich and crashed in the North Sea during return flight 12.15 p.m. FF Lt Hugo Seefried, BF Obergefr Karl Burner, and BS Hptmn Franz Schiffer all killed, BO Gefr Franz Schumacher and BM Uffz Gerhard Bürger both missing. Aircraft A1+GP 100% write-off.
The bodies of Karl Burner, Franz Schiffer and Hugo Seefried later washed ashore on the Dutch coast. |

Fritz Seefried was killed in Ju 88 A-4, 6736, V4+IP of 6./KG 1:
