Info on 77 Squadron crew killed 23.11.43

My first time on the site and posting, but seeking information on the crew of 77 Squadron's Halifax LW290 which crashed at Kloster Zinna on the 23.11.43.

My grandfather was the crew's navigator. We've just returned from a visit to Elvington where the squadron were based and also a trip to the new International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln. From a search on the National Archives for November 1943's 77 squadron flight records, it looks like there was a 7th crew member who didn't fly with them on that last night. One crew member survived and was a POW. Really just trying to piece together some more information. Any help/advice gratefully received.

Hello,

Here's the Flak claim for your Grandfather's Halifax -full details on the events on this night will be revealed in my the closing volume for 1943 in the Nachtjagd Combat Archive series with Wing Leader Publishing, due out next month:

-77 Sqn Halifax LW290: hit by 3. & 4./schw. Flak Abt. 211, crashed 150 m. W. of bahnhof Werder, 3 km NNE Jüterbog (Kloster Zinna), at 20.40 hrs.

Could you tel me if there is a crew photo available of your Grandfather's crew?

Cheers, Theo
