On 2 September 1940 Oblt. Hausmann claimed not confirmed vicory over Hurricane.
Place and time of this claim is unknown, however III/JG 54 was active since 12 a.m. till the evening.

Re: Oblt. Richard Hausmann 9/JG54

Hi and thank you all for your replies. Sorry Chris to be vague but I'm new at this and didn't want to plump for Oblt. Hausmann just because he's the only one who claimed a Hurricane. In your book "The Luftwaffe Fighter's BoB" there was a large raid at lunchtime which I know involved He111s with Bf 110 and Bf 109 escorts. Assuming Tony Wood's lists are complete, a/c from 7/JG54 were in the right place at the right time and their claims were all for Spitfires and then there is Hausmann's claim for a Hurricane with no time. Is it reasonable to assume various elements of JG54 were sent at the same time, or can you help me delve deeper into this one action. Thanking you for any help you can give, Bill

Bill: As others have indicated, his abschuss was not confirmed. As Peter Cornwell stated, Hurricanes were sometimes identified as Spitfires (and vice versa) and with such a busy day, to be positive who got your man in this case is hard
