Hi Brian,

I think this may be nearer ...

140427 Ju 88 A-4 P1+NK 1.(F)/122 (Ob.Befh.Sud)
OPS (F) missing (100%) unk location 10.01.1943 (F Uffz. Emil Budde, B Hptm. Karstinet, BF Uffz. Hans Krause and Uffz. Harry Müller mis)

[rep A4 140427 P1+NK LWFLV losses 9v13.01.43 - Possibly ex-I/KG 60 (if correctly reported); no A-4 on unit strength list during month!]

430121 Ju 88 D-1 F6+EH 1.(F)/122 (Ob.Befh.Sud)
OPS (F) missing (100) unk location (Bone-Oran) 14.02.1943 (F Lt. Hans Boudick, B Stfw. Theodor Schäfer, BF Uffz. Hainz Krempel and BS Gefr. Hans Rollwege missing)

[Note: page hard to read: rep as G6+EH in LWFLV losses 173v17.02.43; likely error for unit code F6+EH (shown abowe)]

Best regards
ed

Thanks guys for the input - excellent!

Going back to the May 1944 actions against 'Hs126s', RT syays 4 Hs126 by 249 Squadron at Bosnia Nordostw, plus one Hs126 at Bihac on 25 May, and 4 Hs126 by Spits at Bihac, plus one at Krajle on 26 May.

Are these two different actions?

Cheers
Brian

Brian, I can't answer that except to observe that "Bosnian Nordostw." sounds like an incomplete location. In German "Bosnien nordostw." would just mean "Bosnia, north east of ..." so it looks like a word's missing.

Another point that should be added to Nick's observation is that most of the German aircraft lost between 25 and 31 May 1944 were destroyed on the ground. As soon as the Germans launched "Rösselsprung", Balkan Air Force in Italy began immediate and intense air support in that area. Now aware that the Luftwaffe had brought up an additional 100+ aircraft to tow the gliders, provide Schlachtflieger support for the Fallschirmjäger and other troops and to provide fighter cover, they doubled their sorties and destroyed many Axis aircraft on the ground at their bases. This leads me to wonder if some of those Spitfire claims may be for aircraft destroyed on the ground?

It hv to be read North-Western. part of Bosnia, the idea is not to respect german, who was very/very simplified in the recent days, idea is put forward the important word for "recollection " its necessary?

The data come part from ...Nick, part from a list made by a man leaving in Yougoslavia, these losses I think are redundant, reading the ultra hv got the impression that 26.th was the right date, but seems remember that date was not given by the germans.. further the HW5/488 gave the hour for the attack , brit. time , 12h00 but on the 25.mai , this one from the germans..
