No specific information in Footprints in the sand (Clutton-Brock), but they may be listed in 'Mauthausen: The History of a Death Camp' by Evelyn le Chene.

Re: 47 allied airmen killed in KZ Camp-who were they?

Hello,
I Cannot find on line where the info re the executed men from the St: Nazaire Raid came from ?
However there are refs to some 64 men being killed.
I can only find 63.
Of the 63, five that I cannot find in CWGC site or Geoff's search site.
They are -
Lieutenant R J G Burtenshaw – 5 Commando
Private G Lewis – 2 Commando
Private J McCormack – 2 Commando
Lance-Corporal K Patterson – 2 Commando
Lieutenant T G P Peton – 2 Commando

Anyone know where these men are at rest ?
Thanks
Alex

Not sure where you're getting 47 from, kaki.

The number was 168. One escaped from the train on the way there (American in the RCAF) and two died in the camp (one RAF and one USAAF)

This is worth a watch: http://www.lostairmen.com/
