Re: 4 Fiat BR20 lost over Greece 1941
Three BR.20M that were shot down by fighters belonged to 277a Squadriglia, 116° Gruppo, 37° Stormo B.T.
The aircraft commanders were Ten. Antonio Zanetti and S.Ten. Leonetto Zilioli, both killed, and Ten. Giuseppe Valerio, all pilots. Also killed were Serg. Magg. Aldo Monicolini and Serg. Gualtiero Favalini, both pilots. A fourth BR.20M, 220-1 MM 22641, made an emergency landing in the Otranto area, being damaged. It was broken up in 1943 by the SRAM Lecce, but I don't know if it was repaired after the damages of 28 february 1941. Gianandrea |

That's some interesting info Gianandrea!
Are there any possibilities to known the MM. MM.22641...also from 277a Squadriglia? Michel |
Re: 4 Fiat BR20 lost over Greece 1941
220-1 belonged to 220a Sq., 55° Gruppo, 37° Stormo.
In order to know MM of the other BR.20's lost, you should dig in the documents at the ItAF Historical Office in Rome....AFAIK, they are not contained in a book or in a magazine. They are not contained in the Diario Storico of 37° Stormo B.T. Gianandrea |
