Hans-Ekkehard Bob

Dear All,
I have just come across a photo of Hans-Ekkehard Bob in a military hospital:

Do you happen to know when he was wounded an in what circumstances?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Teresa

I don't have any record of Hans-Ekkehard being awarded any grading of the Wound Badge. The only occasion I can think of that he may have received any medical attention was after bailing out on 17th April 1943, when he accidentally rammed a B-17 bomber during an aerial attack. Hope this helps,

David

Dear David,
Thank you very much for your answer. Yes, this may have been the reason. (I wish the caption on E-Bay were more detailed!)
Best Regards,
Teresa

Bob collided with the bomber after completing a head on attack and forced to bail out.
