Crash site Gossensass

Hi All,

there was a saying, that in Brenner - Gossensass region a plane crashed, altitude ca 2000m, WWII. A hand was found later then and buried.

Actually we found a few plane parts now, but not identifyable.

No USAAF plane loss can really be assigned to that region,
therefore might be a German (single enigne) plane.

Any info about the loss of a German plane in Brenner- Gossensass area.?

Thx for your effort

Hi Ginamod.
If you post some photographs of the parts you recovered. It might help identify the type of aircraft. Try also to locate any numbers or stamps in the parts. Again this might help to I.D. the aircraft. This would then be a good start to know if German or Allied etc. Then the various records can be searched.
Kind Regards

Fluggast Ofw Erdel, Franz, +

Hindernisberührung. Bruch 100 %.

Dear Friends,

earlier than expected I received yr appr. replies. Thx a lot!

Due to missing numbers and Matti´s precise mentioning of the location Gossensass, it truely will be the crash of that Ju 88 from 18th? Sept. 1943.
Be Aware of the close return of the day! Just a moving coincidence.

Foto: on the iron sheet with connections there was a lable mounted, left side.

New task to find more debris and (time) witnesses, and knowers.
A memory plaque should /will be mounted.
