Hi All

Wondering where He 111's of Kampfgeschwader 26 would have been based on 22nd July 1940?

Stavanger or Aalborg?

Good question.

I have no idea, it bombed NE Scotland on 22nd July, was carrying incendiary bombs. so perhaps not anti-shipping?

Stab, I and III./KG 26 were at Vaernes and moved to Sola towards the end of July 1940; II./KG 26 was at Aalborg until Aug 40
