Do 17Z tail
Does anybody has a decent reference photo of Do 17Z tail - seen from below-rear?
And second question - there is a photograph in 'German bombers over England' p. 59 showing Do 17Z tail (could be F1+CT) with following phrase painted on it - 'DKH Versuchsanstr[ich] System 11'. The airframe seems to be covered in temporary black paint - washed off to show battle damage. What could the phrase mean? I understand it was trial/experimental camouflage, but what DKH was? Regards, Pawel |
Re: Do 17Z tail
Hello Pawel,
I can't find any good picture of the Do 17 Z tail right now, but the DKH is short for "Doctor Kurt Herberts", one of the paint suppliers to the Luftwaffe, and "Versuchanstrich" means test paint application. Regards Jan |
Re: Do 17Z tail
Thank you very much Jan.
