Josef pohls I/JG76
 

Hello all

J have several questions about Josef Pohls
1) his claim of 20/05/40 (or 21/5/40 ?,according Luftwaffe.cz),is it a Battle ? place "Moncornet" (Prien and co but without place specified),OR a lysander place "Calais/St Omer" ?
In my archives,I have these 2 versions...not really the same thing!!

2)his claim of 14/05/40,is it his first ?(not specified by Prien and co)

3)no one seems to date his first 5 "abschusse"

27/09/40(6.)
27/09/40(7.) one of you can do it?

I have his name as Pöhs. I would guess that Jochen has the later victories as being confirmed as 6 and 7 but that one of his first 5 victories is missing (there are 3 for 2./JG 76 down as NN)

With your interest in pilots and specifically in aces, I don't understand why you have not bought Johannes Mathews four books about the Luftwaffe aces.

Then at least you will
a) get his viewpoints
b) a pretty good and solid base to begin any further investigations upon.

He, like everybody else, does not write gospels, but I think everyone on TOCH admits he is an authority on the subject.
