Junkers 252 RH+DC in Tápiószentmárton KG200 secret mission?
 
Dear guys,


I have two pictures about this Junkers 252 transport aircraft.
The code is: RH+DC

The photos was taken at June or July 1944 on Tápiószentmárton airfield (from Budapest maybe 50 km far from south-east).
In this time the 5/1 Hungarian Night Fighter used the place. My Grandfather also told me the Junkers 252 was very interesting with a big hydraulic-door.
Could be the aircraft landing for a secret mission, or just was a visit? Or they came to pick up one P-38 Lightning american fighter, which crashed at 14 July 1944, nearby on Tápiószentmárton airfield.
I search in http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/stammkennzeichen.html but I didn’t find nothing about this plane.

September of 1944 the German night fighter also use the airfield, for two or three week.
Who is interesting about the airfield, must go to this page http://www.kincsemairport.hu


My questions:
What is the true, really had some secret action in this time for a KG 200?
What happend whit this Junkers?
Who whose the pilot?

I believe the A/C is a Ju - 352. 43 were built with large hydraulic ramps.
Operated by Versuchsverband , Luftflotte Kommando , KG - 200.

I think, your SKZ is wrong.
I have found the Ju 252 V 2 / BH + DC. This plane does have a large hydraulic-door, like all Ju 252.

The Ju 252 RH+DC was with high probability the Ju 252 V2 WNr. 2520002 RH+DC.

This plane flew 1943/44 for the so called Jumo Außendienst. This unit was operated by the Junkers Motorenwerke and had some transport planes to ferry spare parts and technicians for trouble shooting operations to Luftwaffe units operating aircraft with Junkers engines.

The presence of this plane at Tápiószentmárton has had nothing to do with KG 200 operations.

Hi,

The plane in question was Ju 252 V2 BH+DC, which was a Junkers factory transport throughout its career. With Flugkapitän Rupprecht Wendel as pilot it had flown on 17 July 1944 from Dessau via Vienna-Aspern and Belgrade-Semlin to Athens-Eleusis where Junkers was running a repair and maintenace shop on behalf of RLM GL/C. On 18 July BH+DC flew from Eleusis via Budapest-Ferihegy to Mathiasfeld (sic) arriving there at 15:36 hrs. and staying overnight. On 19 July BH+DC departed from Matthiasfeld at 10:48 hrs. for Ferihegy again and staying there until 21 July when the plane returned via Vienna-Aspern back to Dessau. Obviously this is somehow matching for your photo.

There was nothing secret or mysteriuous on this plane - it was mainly used for transporting spare parts and experts from one Junkers site to another.

Mr Ott is wrong. According to the FB of Rupprecht Wendel the mentioned flight of the Ju 252 V2/BH+DC to Athen-Eleusis was in July 1943, not 1944. In July 1944 Wendel flew at Dessau.
The Junkers FRB Athen/Eleusis was closed in autumn 1943.

Matthiasfeld is Budapest-Mátyásföld (it was not as big as ferihegy, was not used by transport planes generally)

Yes, Peter Achs is right, all dates and times given in my previous message should be read well for 1943.

Ju 352 V2 BH+DC has been recorded for the last time with a flight of Flugkapitän Konrad Beyer from Kalinowka (now Belarus) to Guben on 21 December 1943 when the undercarriage collapsed during landing.

Have the photographs from Hungary also to be dated back to 1943?
