John Emilius Fauquier, DSO, DFC
Good morning to all members.
Does anyone knows HOW MANY MISSIONS were flown in WW2 by A/Cdre John Emilius Fauquier, DSO, DFC (Can/C.1399)? I read that he flew 38 missions on his Second Tour, but do not know how many were flown on the first tour. Regarding his total missions with 617 Squadron, I guess I can find on some files, but is there anywhere a TOTAL number available? The other question is: How many flying hours he logged, during his career? It is known that before enlisting into the RCAF he had flown as Bush Pilot and Commercial Pilot, logging some 2-3,000 flying hours! Adding his 3 Tours + some local and training flights (including his period as a Flight Instructor), he may have easily reached some 5,000+ flying hours by the end of WW2. Thanks for any orientation (books, archives) to find the answers. DO HIS LOGBOOKS SURVIVED? ARE THEY PRESERVED IN CANADA?? Adriano S. Baumgartner baumgartner_asv@yahoo.com.br |
