German Defence in the East

Hello,

Currently on ebay are a series of photos showing aircraft from Flieger Abteilung 406 defending West Prussia immediately post-war:

Re: German Defence in the East

Hello Stig,

Thanks for the kind words. Some intruiging photos to be sure. I find it interesting that neither The Halbertadt CL.IV (Rol) nor the LFG (Roland) D.VIb have the national markings on the tailplane and as for the partially obscured markings on the aircraft in the background of the fourth photo with the partially obscured fuselage crosses??? I don't believe that I've seen anything like that previously (although goldfish DNA may not help with the memory). I wonder as to the motives. Indication of divergence from the Reich government (??), plausible deniability for the Reich under pressure from the Entente??? I do hope at some stage more photos of this unit appear.

Regards,

Clint
