Jochen Prien's History of II./JG-27

I'd be very grateful to learn what Jochen Prien has to say about the actions on 24 April 1944 between II./JG-27 and the USAAF attacks against southern Germany. As noted, I'm researching the loss of Gefreiter Friedrich Heilmann of 4./JG-27. Any information Prien might have could be of great use.

Thanks in advance.

Best wishes,

John

Re: Jochen Prien's History of II./JG-27

Leo,

Thanks very much. This will definitely help me figure out the USAAF fighters that very likely engaged this flight. If I may also ask, does Prien's history include any photos of pilots from II./JG-27 during April 1944? I know of no other source that might actually have any such photos.

Thanks again.

Best wishes,
John

Leo,

Thanks very much for checking for me.

The Wehrpass is signed: "Kapp Leutnant u. Staffelkapitan," who was Karl-Heinz Kapp, KIA as an Oberleutnant on 6 Aug. 1944.

Best wishes,
John
