88531 Flt Lt Stuart Douglas Barbour (note by doing it this way round, people do not think his name is Flt Lt Douglas!) was killed in a road traffic accident. His unit was 416 RSU

Private Elizabeth Pearson EASTON, ATS. W/49689
Driver M C GRANELLI, RASC. T/235594
Warrant Officer J NICHOL (Nav/B) 98 Sqdn RAF. 1528343
are also buried alongside him with same Date of Death.

With one being a driver, could they all have been killed in the same road accident?

Hello,

No! 1528343 F/Sgt James NICOL RAFVR (later W/O), was killed aboard No.98 Sqn Mitchell II FW262. FW262/G was hit by flak and F/Sgt Nichol was wounded in the back. He died before reaching base.

See: 2TAF2/364-7 and No.98 Sqn ORB (F.541), December, 1944, Image 18 of 21.

Hello,

What is meant by Image 18 of 21, is precisely what it says; Sheet/page/slide, or Image (No.) 18 of 21, of same. Image is the term used by the NA.

See: https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...ils/r/D8384935

Click on "Preview an Image of this record", go to Image 18 of 21.
