13-AP loss of two Pe-3s 5 November 1942
Hi guys
I have a note that two Pe-3s of 13-AP were lost on operations on 5 November 1942 (crews Usishenko/Kuzmen & Shepanovich/Dergehev). Have we any information? I also note that Bf109s of III/JG5 made claims on this date, but possibly for LaGG-3s. Fingers crossed! Cheers Brian |
Re: 13-AP loss of two Pe-3s 5 November 1942
Hi Brian,
Ustishenko (Ustimenko) A.I. - Bantsev K.A. (+passenger Popov F.F.) Gorbuntsov V.S. - Dergilev (Dergelev) I.G. MIA when flying from the Yagodnik airfield to Panoj airfield. The plane of Ustimenko was found in the summer of 1988 with the remains of all three crew members. There was an attempt to make an emergency landing (crashed) - there are signs of damage to the heavy machine gun. Found in the Arkhangelsk region. Suggest that the neighborhood in the area Okulovo lake was a German field aerodrome. BR, Kirill |

Many thanks once again, Kirill
It seems unlikely that the two Pe-3s fell to Bf109s of III./JG5. Cheers Brian |
