Hptm Freidrich-Wilhelm Methner
 

Hptm Friedrich-Wilhelm Methner was awarded the DKiG on 05Nov42 as a St.Kap. in II./KG 40. He later served as Gr.Kdr. V./KG 2 until his death on 15-16Jul43.

Can anyone tell me which staffel he commanded in II./KG 40 and did he serve as St.Kap. of this staffel until II./KG 40 was re-designated V./KG 2 in Jun43.

This chap's name has come up again...after so many years His EKM would indicate 2./KGzbV 1 issued probably Summer 1940. Then nothing until EP as a Hptm in Aug 42 and DKiG with II./KG 40 Nov 42. He then takes command of II./KG 2 (V./KG 2) in June 1943 from Maj Martin Kästner only to be killed just under a month later. Larry and Doug have little more so can anyone else add to this?
