Hello,
https://218squadron.wordpress.com/av...er-mk-b-me454/ ME545 served as XH-L "Lovely Lou" on 218 Sqn. You'll find a nice shot of Lancaster ME545 in the following publication: Avro Lancaster The Definite Record - 2nd Edition. Holmes,Harry Shrewsbury:Airlife Publishing,2001. p.212. The photo caption reads: Lancaster ME545/V7-E of the Radio Warfare Establishment at Watton in 1946, with its mid-upper turret faired over. The unit became the Central Signals Establishment in 1947, but the code letters were retained. The aircraft's service was as "Lovely Lou", XH-L, of 218 Sqn. Col. |
