Information concerning loss of Feldwebel Jakob Jackermeier - killed 01.12.1942

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of Feldwebel Jakob Jackermeier whose Sterbebild reads a bit confusing as it states he is a fighter pilot lost on the 1st December 1942 but then goes on to say he was in a parachute regiment!

It also states that he was involved in battles in Poland and France and air missions against England!

Any ideas

Rick

Hi Rick

see Find a Grave:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg...GRid=137028226

mentions being in a Parachute Regiment but nothing about being a fighter pilot. It might be worth trying to contact "Ralf" who created this entry but I suspect that the info might have come from the same Sterbebild that you have. What is the full wording on the card?

He was a paratrooper and KIA at el Bathan due to a rifle shot. No information on his activities as a pilot.

Hi Rick
This may not add much to what you already know but this is posted on the "Find a Grave" website:
Birth: Jun. 30, 1916
Bavaria (Bayern), Germany
Death: Dec. 1, 1942, Tunisia

Feldwebel im Fallschirmjäger Regiment
Bordj-Cedria Hof MOR Ossario 4 Tafel 17

Burial:
Bordj-Cedria German War Cemetery
Tunis
Tunis, Tunisia
All this and the photo probably come from the same sterbebild that you have. It might be worth contacting "Ralf" who posted his entry to see if he has any further information. He appears to have posted many sterbebild for German service personnel. I'm slowly doing the same with the sterbebild that I have collected.
