Re: eBay: Allied intrest
First one is Battle K9330/MQ-W of 226 Sqn, abandoned at Reims on 16 May 40.
Anyone for the 61 Sqn Hampden QR-U. I think it will be earlier than 1942, the squadron had re-equipped with Manchesters by then. |

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Joel,
PM- was the code of 103 Sqn. Records indicate that it was abandoned by 226 Sqn. See also here: https://www.anciens-aerodromes.com/?p=33864 See also: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/i...ject/205207522 Andy |
Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Andy is correct
Aircraft was heavily photographed and one of these photos clearly shows the code to be MQ-W Cheers Stig |
Re: eBay: Allied intrest
HI Joël,
As I do not doubt that you buy and read the excellent French magazines (without heavy tax fees!) you have a profile and a complete photo page 46 of Batailles Aériennes (LELA Presse) n°67 of this Fairey Battle Bertrand |

Bertrand,
Do you know the identity of the Battle coded A which is in the same photo? The Blenheim is evidently from 18 Sqn. Andy |

Hi all,
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Altes-Foto-A...AAAOSwspZgG-gj ...is possible, that this is Spitfire Mk. Vb W3458 - based on my info, it is only Spit serie W34xx from 616. Sq, which made an emergency landing. Check this link: http://www.bbm.org.uk/airmen/as-casson.htm Other photos are welcome :-) Faenor |

Avro Manchester Mk.I - with "fin tail" https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeu...QAAOSwquxgHFkL https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-WK2-Flu...kAAOSw~O5gHGDo Probably from the same crash are these photo of the death crew, but I´m not sure, because this seller sold photos of different planes with same notice (Wellington of 9.Sq, Wellington of 419.Sq, Halifax of 35.Sq) - but on the photo is probably same/similar brick wall of the house: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeu...kAAOSwcGtgHGPe https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Flugzeu...cAAOSwr7pgHGLK Further information is welcome Faenor |

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
#4 will be Blenheim L8857 of 114 Sqn, destroyed in an air raid on Condé-Vraux on 11 May 40. I don't think its individual code has ever been established. Hopefully a helpful German will have photographed the other side...

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
114 squadron's code was RT, so possibly ?°RT and not RT°T.

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Gents,
Thanks for the reply (and thanks for the Battle suggestion Bertrand). My only comment is the same as udf 00s. All photos I can find of the left side of 114 Sqn Blenheims show the code in the format x-RT, with the squadron letters nearest to the tail. Indeed, in the photo at #1514, I'm sure I can see the bottom of the R just forward of the T, under the burned patch. So was this really confirmed as RT-T? It has as much chance of being T as any other letter, but.... Andy |
