Information concerning the loss of Uffz. Alois Gartner - killed 03.11.1943
 

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of Uffz. Alois Gartner who was an experienced flier with campaigns in Norway, Crete and the East.

He was lost on the 3rd November 1943 in the air war over Russia at the age of 23.

Seems strange to my amateur mind that flying personnel were on a glider?

This cannot have been normal?
