ww2 SAAF pilot private 8mm film discovered
Hi everyone
I visited John Hewitson. He is the last SAAF fighter pilot ace still around. John "Googoo" lend me his war time film reels and I got the 30 min footage digitized. He had a 8mm movie cam with him while doing war service. John saw service in East Africa (SAAF 1 sqdn) and North Africa (SAAF 5 sqdn). He flew in combat: Gladiators, Hurricanes, Tomahawks and was shot down and captured while flying a Kittyhawk.
