Captured Spit PR.IV... new shots?
I was browsing about in an image directory last night, and came across these two shots:
http://www.matchman8.net/phcp001.jpg http://www.matchman8.net/phcp002.jpg I believe this is the same PR.IV that wound up in a captured Allied aircraft exhibition in Bremen or somewhere, along with an Arsenal VG.33 and a Bloch 152. Has anyone seen these pics before? And one more bonus shot... a pic of "Wulf Hound" (B-17F-27-BO s/n 41-24585, 360BS/303BG) taxiing past in full Luftwaffe markings: http://www.matchman8.net/phcp024.jpg Lynn |
Haven't seen those particular images before, groovy stuff...
You seem to have similar browsing habits as I, so you may have seen this before... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...y/L3094-20.jpg Fade to Black... |
The Spitfire seems to be X4385. This aircraft made a forced landing due to engine failure at Deelen airfield on September 22nd 1941. After landing the pilot tried to raise the landing gear to inflict some damage to the propellor. Only one of the wheels came up, so there was no real damage to the aircraft.
