Ok.

One question please, in the blurb about the book it states "Included is the latest information on the Luftwaffe’s late war colors, which have been reproduced as scale colors on the basis of the original paint factory recipes by Gerald T. Högl and Jürgen Kiroff."

Are the colours in the book as per the factory spec (whatever that means 70 odd years later) or has someone played about with them by adding random quantities of white to lighten the colour, as per the nebulous scale colour theory?

You can probably tell that I am not a great believer in scale colour.

The book includes a sub-chapter on the scale colour theory (which is not just adding a little white) which explains how this was done.

Therefore are the colours in the book true, or have they all been adulterated in some undefined way?

Or are the colours in the book true and it is only the paints, if I were to buy them, modified according to scale colour theory?

The German colours are altered to the scale colour theory, based on the calculations made from the l*a*b* values of the original colours. Reproductions of the colour cards added to L.Dv. 521/1 (both 1938 and 1941 edition) are also included, along with a photo of RLM 83 recipe and colour card made on the basis of this recipe, using the same components. The process of reproducing the late war colours was very time-consuming and troublesome, as many of the components are now banned from industrial use in EU.
