Lt. Sylvan Feld of 4th FS/52nd FG and Lt. Marvin Haskins of 2nd FS/52nd FG
 

Hi All,

Do any of you know if Sylvan Feld of 4th FS/52nd FG or Marvin Haskins of 2nd FS/52nd FG is still with us? If so I would like to try and contact them in connection with their flying careers in summer/autumn 1943.

I have matched up combats with Fw 190s involving both of them, and would like to find out if they can add some additional information.

Morten,
Sylvan Feld was POW on Aug 13, 1944 in a P-47D by flak in the Argentan area; was wounded on Aug 20, 1944 in a US bombing attack at Bernay, and died on Aug 21, at Petit Quevilly.

I would have to do some research on Haskins.

Frank; thanks for your quick reply. I have noted the fate of Lt. Feld. Please let me know what you come up with regarding Haskins.

Does any of you happen to have any photos these two guys and their Spitfires? I am looking for photos to illustrate Andrew Arthy and my coming book on Fw 190 operations in the Mediterranean. Any contribution will of course be fully credited.

There is a photo of Feld´s Spitfire Mk Vb, WD-D, ES276, in the history of 52.FG by Ivie and Ludwig together with a colour profile of the aircraft. Photo of Haskins is also there..

Jeps, and it is exactly such photos that I am looking for. Unfortunately, Paul Ludwig has not replied to my email that I mailed him 2-3 weeks ago, so I am trying this board instead.

If you have any alternatives to obtaining these photos I would be happy if you could drop me a message :-)

in the case you did not already obtained the pictures by now I can make scans of them from my copy of the book. However, I have only czech edition of the book so the legend to these pictures will not be of a great value to you
