Info sought on Spitfire tank

2 Attachment(s)
Hi All,

After an absence of several years I'm back with a question pertaining a recently find (metaldetecting). It turned out to be a Spitfire Slippertank. I'm looking for the amount of gallons this one was made for. The tank has been donated to the Dutch Aircraft Recovery Group '40 - '45 Museum in Heemskerk.

TIA,

Paul

Based on the depth, the tank resembles a 30 or 45 gallon tank. The back of the tank looks odd as the tanks that I'm aware of did not have a wall at the back.

Hard to tell from the small images, it does look like a 30 gal slipper tank.
