BF110 crash details, 1940 Battle of Britain

Hello,

Looking for information on a BF110 that i think came down during the Battle of Britain. All i have on it is it crashed at or near Canewdon , Rochford, England and i understand that parts of the aircraft were on display at the London Air Museum?

All help appreciated.

Messerschmitt Bf110C-4 (3113) 3M+EL of 3./ZG2 down at Pudsey Hall Farm, Canewdon, at 11.18 a.m. on 3 September 1940. Oberfw Gerhard WINKLER and Gefr Oskar WEILER both baled out and captured unhurt. See Blitz Then & Now Vol 1 p304 and Zerstorer p169 & p190 for full details.

Hi Peter,

Yes that will be the one, does anyone happen to know if a MG15 was recovered from the crash site in the 1970's....the book says full armament was recovered but are they talking offensive only ?

Thanks

Jon
