Cowley, Oxford Aircraft Dump 1940
As is so often the case I search for something else and find other items of interest, such as a collection of photos showing a UK aircraft dump at Cowley.
Can anyone identify an individual identity of any Luftwaffe plane from all the junk? Once you view a photo in this link scroll down then either backwards or forwards with the blue arrow. http://www.tate.org.uk/art/archive/i...he-cowley-dump |

Re: Cowley, Oxford Aircraft Dump 1940
I believe the 109s are Mölders (JG 51) & Beyer (JG 26)

Re: Cowley, Oxford Aircraft Dump 1940
I'd guess that Paul Nash took these photos as studies for his painting Totes Meer (Dead Sea).
