Crash day confirmation

Hi All,

in short.

Can somebody confirm a German plane crash, Italy
on 5th January 1942, 43,44,45 ??? Best 44 or 45.
Witness says ist was a 5th January.
Maybe he is wrong about one or two days around 5th Jan.
Year: Wartime II
Location : End of Pflerschtal Southtyrol
We have little parts but no knowledge about the model and pilot.

Maybe you have other planes crashed in Pflerschtal, where the Brennerrailroad makes a big loop into the Brennertunnel.

All info welcome
Thx in advance for your suggestions.

Re: Crash day confirmation

If 5 Jan indeed correct, then perhaps a Ju-88A-4 that crashed in the Bozen/Bolzano area on 5 Jan 1943 with three crew killed: Uffz. Heinz Satzer, Gefr. Alfons Gründing and Ofw. Rolf Hohn. Ju-88A-4 was of Flugzeugüberführungsgeschwader 1, so crash during ferry flight likely.

Bozen/Bolzano not too far from Pflerschtal/Val di Fleres, I gathered.

I'm sure our distinguished Luftwaffe experts can add more info about this airplane.

Regards,
Leendert

Just FYI that the three mentioned airmen are buried at a military cemetery at Bozen-St. Jakob (Bolzano-San Giacomo)
See name list on http://www.denkmalprojekt.org/2015/b...dtirol_it.html

Re: Crash day confirmation

Unknown crash Ju 88
Time: Summer 1942, 1943, 1944 ???
Same valley as Ju 88 crash on 5th Jan 1943. See the text above.
End of Pflersch valley in South Tyrol, Italy. 600 m lower than Grunsee, Ju 88 from 5. Jan 1943. End of the Pflersch valley, Furtalm = Ochsenalm.
Witness saw the crash directly, he saw 2 aimen killed, German troops cleared the crashsite.
Sorry to say that it is probably not the Ju 88 crash from 18. Sept. 1943, 8 km southwest from Brenner. 4 KIA. This crashite not yet found, too !!
Any suggestions for this case from Summer 1942,43,44. ? Beginning, middle, or end of June 1942, 43, 44 ??
Many thx for your ideas and suggestions !!!
