Heinkel 111 lost April 23, 1945
 

Please help, on April 23, Heinkel crashed an unknown serial number with the crew that died near Neustadt. Will anyone advise, please? I would like to make this thing clear to the public. Thank you MT

Which Neustadt is it? There are several town with such a name in Germany and Austria.

There are no crashes reported near Neustadt (Nové Město na Moravě) in spring 1945.

The only losses in that area were two He 111 from a not reported unit on a supply flight to Breslau in the night 23./24.04.45.

He 111 units in April 1945 in that area were Stab, I. and III./KG 4 at Königgrätz (Hradec Kralove) and Transgruppe Herzog at Hohenmauth (Vysoke Myto). But Neustadt is not on their way to Breslau, it's some 50km in opposite direction.

Gerhard, many thanks for your help. Are the aircraft serial numbers known? According to preserved fragments - windows and production labels it is definitely Heinkel. So one of them. (Labels from the Jumo 211 Pump Engine and Direction Trim Control.)

One He111 crash on 23.April 45, in Ostpriegnitz, far from Czechland, but in this district there is a city called Neustadt ...:D

Gerhard, thank you for your help. I will search further, try BaMa Freiburg or a book of deceased. Perhaps I can find out on this case my friend from the museum works, but so far it has not moved. What is certain is that it was Heinkel, not Junkers, as many witnesses have so far mistakenly thought.

Rémi- The date of the accident is also correct - confirmed by a chronicler and also witnesses.

Hi Tolesa, Your city Neustadt is Nove Mesto nad Metuji. An unknown plane fell down near the village of Rezek in this night. Rezek is settlements of Nové Město nad Metují.
On April 24, 1945, unknown German plane crashed by Nové Město nad Metují (Neustadt) - between the settlements of Rezek and Bradla. In the Chronicle of Nové Město nad Metují chronicler writed on April 24, 1945: "Maybe pursued, the crew of the plane wanted to land, but plane caught on the tops of the trees that were wrecked and plan fell down ... The plane flew from Wroclaw, where it was hit four times, they did not care about it, considered it to be relentless, but now it was fading and crashing to the ground .... Perhaps oil was running out, no lubrication was done, the bearings was getting warmer for a long flight, and finally the plane started to burn."
According to the findings it should be He-111, which flew from Breslau. A frequent route from Hradec Králové and Vysoké Mýto to Breslau was via Nové Město nad Metují and Náchod to today's Poland. Unfortunately, I do not have more information. Do you know more?
