is there photographic evidence for Buchner's Me 262 "black 11"?
Buchner's book "Stormbird" has a rather nice colored side view of this plane (on p. 127), but no photo. Is the sideview just a guesstimation or is it supported by some kind of evidence?

completely wrong profile for me. From photo proof all Me262 with a yellow fuselage band got white number on the nose and then came from III./EJG2 (or Ekdo 262)...
in the same way he never flew 'yellow 3' And all the Bf 109E profiles from 8./SchG.1 got inverted markings 'delta+blue' when they were actually 'blue+delta'... The last Fw190 'F+delta' with an indian head and the Mickey mouse is also pretty hard to believe correct since the triangle was no more painted over front line Fw190 since summer 1943... |
