Information concerning loss of Franz Forster - KG27 - 01.05.1944
 

Hi,

I have recently acquired a strange sterbebild that had details of one brother but just a photo of the other and a scribbled almost invisible message on the card stating KG27 - Franz Forster and a date 1st May 1944.

Can anyone see if this information leads to an actual loss and provide details on Franz loss?

You have a wrong date:
1941-05-01, 4./KG 27, He 111 P-2, 2604, 1G+HM, 8 km südlich Worthing, Sussex
Flugzeugführer Lt Ballauf, Helmut, gefangen
Bombenschütze Fw Foerster, Franz, +
Bordfunker Uffz Averberg, Rolf, +
Bordmechaniker Fw Platt, Heinrich, +
Absturz in See infolge Beschuß von Nachtjäger. Bruch 100 %. Ballauf mit Fallschirm abgesprungen.
