Hi guys!

I just wanted to share the news from Norway this afternoon.

After nearly 70 years at the bottom of the sea, a ultra rare Heinkel He 115 B-C, the iconic Luftwaffe seaplane, has been successfully rescued from the sea.

Lost on December 28th 1942, due to a damaged float (parts of the aircraft, one engine and floats were disassembled before it sank), the 1./906 aircraft has now been taken ashore in astonishing condition.

A million thanks to Arnt-Espen Skipnes for the photos

Regards,
Andreas B

Just Fantastic!

Here is a link from a other forum showing some close pictures from the salvaging.
One picture shows some kind of art drawing , anybody seen that before ?

Link with a little film :

The a/c is said to be dismantled in 5 parts, then it will be laid in big fresh water tanks for about 2-3 years in an attempt to get all of the salt off.

It looks great doesn`t it :)
