Crash Landed YAK w/ Luftwaffe pilot

Nice picture of Speed Bird YAK , obviously after a crash landing (bent propeller blades) with grinning Luftwaffe pilot.

Any more information?

The photo appears on this Russian website among others:

A rough Google translate of the photo caption:

Captured Yak-1B from the 3rd Fighter Corps of the Air Force KA usually associated with the well-known "werewolves." Feldwebel Heinz Sachsenberg, who is directly associated with the heroes of the narration, is posing against the background of one of the forced landing "Yakov"

This picture is probably taken from from the 1974 (?) version of the "Tagebuch des Hauptmann Lipfert". It was taken in Bagerovo airfield in October 1943 IIRC.

If i remember correctly, the speed bird was a marking used by a Soviet fighter unit.

The picture in H Lipfert's book is different but shows the side view with a white number of "39".

From "Red Stars" by CG Geust et al: "YAK-7Bs of the 3 IAK (Fighter Aviation Corps) donated by kolkhoze workers of the Bashikirian ASSR at Kuban in May 1943 ...[T]he winged star was the corps emblem."
