Combat archive 9 downgrades Erich Rudorffer puzzled

Hi
Wikipedia:-
He stayed there until 7 January 1940, one day later, Rudorffer, now an Oberfeldwebel (staff sergeant), was posted to the 2. Staffel (2nd squadron) of Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen" (JG 2—2nd Fighter Wing), named after the World War I fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen.[2]

Combat Archive 9 p5 1 Sept 1940 1/JG2 Fw Erich Rudorffer. Spitfire Dover

Surely he didnt go down a grade when moving to 1 staffel ? Can anyone confirm he did move to 1 staffel JG2 in fact or was this a temporary move ?

What book or website has all the movements and ranks of all the Luftwaffe Pilots in the Battle of Britain ?

Thanks

On 8 Jan 40 he arrived on 2./JG 2 at Frankfurt-Rebstock and was commissioned 28 Oct 40.. His first kill was 14 May 40 as a Fw and his first as Ofw was his 19th on 10 Oct 40 still with 2 Staffel. Beware Wikepedia and no such book exists as it would be massive

Thanks Chris,
So Combat Archive have rank correct of Fw but they have the Staffel wrong, saying 1 Staffel.

I see from another post that Dec 16 1942 after recovering from injury he returns to his unit and it says 4th Staffel.

Could he have temporarily have been with 1 Staffel on 1 Sept 2021 ?

According to him, he was a pilot with 2 Staffel, Adjutant of II./JG 2 (1 Jun 41) and St Kap of 6./JG 2 (taking over from Frank Liesendahl 15 Jul 41). Lt 28 Oct 40, Oblt 1 Oct 41. He took command of II./JG 2 17 Apr 43 and then to IV./JG 54 30 Jun 43

2021 oops.
1940 !

So 2 Staffel through and through in 1940 or certainly Sept 1940, so Vol 9 are wrong.
I have been adding Pilots to my database and finding my rank entries initially placed there I seem to recall from Peter Foote data are differing, but hope the Staffel dont also differ, makes it slow going having to research each addition.

Maybe that was supposed to be prophetic?
