LW Advanced Aircraft Projects to 1945 - new

I was reluctant to buy this book since it includes aircraft previously described in the three Luftwaffe Secret Projects books published earlier by Midland. About 40% of the aircraft illustrated in this book are new, but all of the illustrations are new. This is the first of a possible four volume series and covers designs from Arado to Junkers. All of the aircraft are illustrated with a color view and black and white three views. There is descriptive text that covers what is known about each type, and the color illustrations show the layout and visible weapons systems and other features well.

The book opens with a glossary that includes piston engine designations, along with take-off power, rocket motors by manufacturer and model designations plus take-off power, and meanings of some German abbreviations, etc. The author discusses the subject of Ram-Fighters briefly and then the projects portion begins. I think it would be best for me to just give the contents. (Please excuse the lack of the umlaut.)

Re: LW Advanced Aircraft Projects to 1945 - new

Dear Ed,

Thanks for the preview of this book. I, too, had wondered whether it was a simple rehash of the earlier books. Based on the aircraft listed and your positive comments, I assume that it is not and is worth a purchase.

Regards,
Richard
