Stuka losses 9.October 1943

You weren't specific, but I'm guessing you are most interested in the 9.Oct. 1943 when the II/St.G. 3 lost nine Ju 87D-3/Trop when they were intercepted during their mission against Royal Navy ships in the Aegean. Of these nine, seven crashed into the sea, two made emergency landings on Rhodes.

Four crewmen were killed and seven listed as missing. One crew that made it to Rhodes were both wounded. The pilots included a Hauptmann, four Leutnants, two Unteroffiziere and an Ofw. (Bordfunker, not pilot).

Thanks, I am trying to discover the identity of an airframe that has been pulled up to shallow water by fisherman, so no idea when it went down. Code on the fuselage looks vaguely like 'G'

Well, if it IS "G", this may be your match:

Ju 87D-3/Trop WNr.100375, coded S7+GM (white G),
lost "SW of Rhodos", Lt. Rolf Metzger & Uffz. Hans Sopnemann, both MIA 9.Oct. 1943 after being shot down by an enemy fighter.
