He 115 3/Ku.FI.Gr.906 Loss, 19 July 1940

I am looking for confirmation for the loss of an He 115 of 3/Ku.FI.Gr.906 on 19 July 1940, which, according to Mason's Battle Over Britain and Brian Cull's Battle for the Channel, was shot down by F/O Jeffrey of 64 Squadron off the French coast — one of two aircraft that he claimed to have attacked in his Combat Report. Although other Battle of Britain sources comment on this combat, only the two mentioned identify the LW unit. Can anyone help?

Looking at his Combat Report, Lord knows what he attacked or thought happened but his report doesn't match with any recorded Luftwaffe losses

Thanks Chris, yes that one is a mystery as his report has quite a lot of detail.

ULTRA has this (no idea if it's relevant):

CX/JQ/152, para. 9: Seenotdienststelle Ostende reported that at 1430/19 an a/c, probably an Hs 126, fell into the sea. Direction NW, about 20 km away. (B)

And I'm attaching the day's report from TNA HW13/28, "GNA Vol. II, December 1940 numbered 1–20, 28.12.39 – 31.12.40" in case it offers any clues.

...and 3./906 was still meant to be at Norderney until the end of July 1940
